What the Ministry of Justice launched

Qatar’s Ministry of Justice launched the redesigned Official Gazette website and Al Meezan legal portal on 11 October 2026. The Ministry described them as an integrated digital legal-knowledge system designed to improve search, classification, documentation and access.

The launch notice says Al Meezan contains more than 9,659 legislative instruments, 3,758 judgments and 709 agreements. These counts describe the database at launch and will change. They should not be used as a substitute for identifying the exact law, amendment and Gazette issue relevant to a question.

Al Meezan and the Official Gazette serve different checks

Al Meezan connects legislation with judgments, legal opinions and agreements, which helps a reader trace context and related material. The Official Gazette is the publication record: the website states that its digital materials have the same legal authority and effect as the printed version under Qatar’s Gazette law.

For a high-impact question, search Al Meezan by law number, year, topic and status, then open the Gazette issue and publication details. Check whether the law is current, amended or repealed and whether an implementing decision is also required.

Research is not individual legal advice

A portal result may not answer how a rule applies to a contract, deadline, court order or immigration status. Procedural decisions and implementing regulations can matter as much as the headline law. Preserve the exact official URL and access date when relying on a source.

For a dispute, penalty, filing deadline or substantial transaction, obtain advice from a qualified Qatar legal professional. Do not upload confidential documents to an unknown “AI law” site merely because it quotes Al Meezan.
