What opened on 11 October 2026

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced that a two-month status-correction period for eligible Yemeni workers began on 11 October 2026. The route follows the earlier inter-agency announcement and is implemented digitally through the official labour platforms rather than through private registration agents.

The ministry identifies workers with expired residence permits and workers with recorded absence cases as groups that may be covered when the published controls are satisfied. A valid travel document remains essential. Eligibility is case-specific, so a person should rely on the result shown in the official service rather than assume that nationality alone is enough.

Use Qiwa or Musaned for the correct employment category

Private-sector employment cases are handled through Qiwa, while qualifying domestic-worker cases are handled through Musaned. The ministry says the digital process is integrated with Absher for relevant identity and transfer steps. The employer and worker should use the platform matching the recorded employment relationship.

Do not start a second application on a different platform merely because the first case needs review. Save the request number and any official message explaining a missing document, employer action or eligibility condition. An application submitted through an unofficial website does not create a valid government record.

Prepare the records needed for a defensible application

Confirm that the Yemeni passport or travel document is valid and legible. Preserve the Iqama record, employment contract, wage evidence, absence-related notices, employer communications and any prior official request. Do not alter dates or ask an intermediary to manufacture evidence.

The receiving employer should verify its ability to complete the transfer and every platform requirement before promising employment. Workers should review the employer identity, occupation, wage and contract presented in Qiwa or Musaned and should not approve a request that differs from the real arrangement.

  1. 1

    Choose the official platform

Use Qiwa for the relevant private-sector route or Musaned for the relevant domestic-worker route.

  2. 2

    Check documents and status

Confirm the travel document, recorded employment category, Iqama or absence status and employer details.

  3. 3

    Save the official result

Retain the request number, contract, approvals and any message requiring further action.

What the correction period does not guarantee

The measure should not be described as a general amnesty, an automatic transfer or permission for every Yemeni national to work. It does not establish that all penalties are waived, that dependants are corrected automatically or that an employer can bypass normal eligibility and contract controls.

The two-month period is time-limited and the live platform decision controls each case. Anyone facing a criminal, immigration, employment or family complication should obtain guidance from the competent authority or a qualified Saudi legal professional before taking an irreversible step or paying money.
