Mandatory UAE Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) Scheme

The Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) scheme is a mandatory federal social security safety net established under Federal Decree-Law No. 13 of 2022. The program provides financial security to employees in the UAE federal government and private sector by providing a cash compensation payout for up to three consecutive months in the event of involuntary job termination.

Mandatory Compliance: Subscription to ILOE is compulsory for all UAE national and expatriate workers across the private sector and federal government. Failure to subscribe results in an automated financial fine of AED 400 from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE).

The scheme is divided into two distinct salary categories based on basic monthly wage:

How to Subscribe to ILOE Online (Step-by-Step)

  1. Go to the official ILOE Portal (iloe.ae) or download the ILOE mobile application.
  2. Click on 'Subscribe Here' and select your sector ('Private' or 'Federal Government').
  3. Enter your Emirates ID Number and registered mobile number.
  4. Enter the OTP received via SMS to confirm identity.
  5. Select your insurance policy period (1 Year or 2 Years).
  6. Complete payment using credit/debit card, Apple Pay, or Samsung Pay.
  7. Download your official ILOE Insurance Certificate and keep the policy number on record.
