Check whether you need an appointment at all
Many passport and residency transactions are completed electronically in Absher or by an employer through Absher Business or Muqeem. Before booking, search the official service guide for the exact task. An office appointment should support a case that genuinely requires attendance; it is not a faster substitute for every online service.
Write down the outcome you need, such as correcting a record, presenting documents for a referred case, or following an instruction from Jawazat. If an online service produced an error, keep the full error wording, date and reference. This helps you choose a relevant appointment instead of a general label that does not match the case.
Book the slot through the official appointment area
Use the official Absher website or application and sign in through the authentication method offered to you. Open My Appointments, choose the passport or expatriate-affairs service shown for your task, and start a new booking. The National Platform's appointment guidance describes selecting the department, service, branch and available time before confirming.
Follow the current screen rather than an old screenshot, because department names and available services can change. Select the branch you can actually attend. Before confirming, check the city, branch, service, date and time as separate fields; a correct date at the wrong branch still creates an unusable appointment.
Save and read the confirmation
After confirmation, save the appointment record or print it if the screen offers that option. Record the booking reference and take note of the branch location. Do not rely only on a cropped image that hides the service name or date.
Read the instructions attached to the booking. They may identify documents, arrival guidance or a service limitation. The booking itself does not approve the underlying request and does not replace a missing government fee, employer action or original document. It reserves access to the selected office service.
Prepare documents for your exact case
Carry the identity and travel documents relevant to the case and any official request, error message, payment reference or employer letter connected to it. Use the checklist on the live service or appointment confirmation. A generic online list cannot reliably cover every Jawazat transaction.
Arrange originals and copies so an officer can follow the issue chronologically. If the case concerns a family member, employer or sponsor, confirm whether that person, an authorized representative, or additional proof is required. Never borrow someone else's appointment or identification because the slot appears earlier.
Change or cancel an appointment you cannot use
Absher describes its appointment capability as allowing users to book, modify or cancel. Open the existing appointment record and use the action currently offered. A reschedule may require choosing another available slot; cancelling removes the existing reservation and does not guarantee that a better time will appear immediately.
Take a screenshot or save the updated confirmation after the change. If the system does not offer modification close to the appointment, use the official support channel shown by Absher rather than creating repeated bookings under different services. Cancelling promptly also leaves the slot available to another user.
On the appointment day
Arrive with enough time for access and security procedures, but follow any arrival window on the confirmation. Bring the appointment record and the case documents in a secure folder. Do not hand original documents to an unofficial helper outside the office.
Before leaving, ask for the next official step and retain any case or transaction reference. If additional evidence is required, write down the exact item and the channel for submitting it. An appointment is complete when you understand the recorded outcome, not merely when you enter the building.
If no suitable appointment is available
First confirm that you selected the correct department and branch. Availability can differ by location and service, and a slot for a different task may not be accepted for your case. Check again through the official platform at a reasonable interval instead of paying someone who claims to control government appointments.
If the matter has a legal or service deadline, do not wait silently for an appointment. Keep evidence of the online service attempt and contact Absher or the responsible authority through its official support channel. Explain the transaction, deadline, branch and error in one message. Support may identify an electronic route or a case-specific instruction, but only the authority can confirm that alternative.
Avoid creating overlapping appointments for several branches. Multiple reservations make your own record harder to manage and do not guarantee earlier service. Cancel any slot you will not use, then retain the final active confirmation.
